CPAP

What is CPAP machine?

CPAP – Continuous positive airway pressure machine. It sends a steady flow of pressurized air into your nose and mouth as you sleep. This keeps your airways open and helps you breathe normally.

How does a CPAP machine work?

A CPAP machine’s compressor (motor/turbine) generates a continuous stream of pressurized air (which in some machines changes as per patients’ needs) that travels through a flexible tube.

This tube delivers pressurized air into a mask sealed around your nose and mouth.

As you sleep, the airstream from the CPAP machine pushes against any blockages, opening your airways so your lungs receive plenty of air.
